"The4yearoldchild is a continuing series of audio-portraits, documenting a world through child's eyes.
Ian Epps finds the4yearoldchild Courtside, entertains the idea of an identity of a child, constructed out of sound. Understanding that humans are complex filtering machines, Courtside is the4yearoldchild's experience of playing a game of lawn tennis. Developing a vocabulary of this activity, the child relies on memory, and an understanding of physics, weather conditions and human behavior".

"Debut cd by video/audio artist Ian Epps. Epps creates a playful music out of manipulated sine waves and digital artifacts. For this genre of computer glitchery, Epps has a unique sense of phrasing and timing. He introduces charming musical hooks and bats them around and tears at them until they are lost in machine-like textures and atmospherics. Fragments of the original ideas then resurface throughout the disc's 86 tracks. This is a fun and promising debut work".

CD |(crd) | 2000
first release by The Computers is actually a single recorded improv session between Dan Walsh (The 100 year old man), Ian Epps (finds... The 4 year old child) and Jason Forrest (Donna Summer). Recorded last fall in Atlanta, this is what happens when three sets of computers lock horns.
"An immense pressure of atmospheric sound will overwhelm you! The Computers transplant iron maiden and pink floyd samples onto pockmarked pure tones and scuffed up digital resonance. The result is a particle-laden computer jam for the tasting. "
